The JOVVI Tampered-Glass MRI Window uses 5mm tempered glass in the construction, providing enhanced impact resistance and safety compared to standard annealed glass. The tempered glass undergoes a controlled thermal and chemical treatment process that increases its strength and causes it to break into small, relatively harmless pieces if impact damage occurs.
The tempered glass construction maintains the 98.5% transparency required for patient observation. The window achieves 100–110 dB RF attenuation across 10 MHz to 130 MHz through the brass mesh shielding layer. The double-layer construction with 8mm insulating hollow glass provides acoustic insulation.
The tempered glass is particularly valuable in high-traffic areas where the window may be subject to accidental impact, in pediatric imaging facilities where children may be present, and in installations where safety glass is required by local building codes.
JOVVI's manufacturing processes include the integration of tempered glass in MRI window construction, with careful control of the tempering process to maintain optical clarity and dimensional stability. The factory's quality control includes inspection of tempered glass for optical quality and conformance to safety standards.
The factory maintains inventory of tempered glass in various sizes to support timely production. JOVVI's experience with safety requirements in medical imaging facilities informs product design.
