Product Description
MRI Stretcher with Powered Height Adjustment
Function

The MRI Stretcher with Powered Height Adjustment uses non-magnetic electric actuators to raise and lower the deck, eliminating the manual effort required for hydraulic or gas-spring systems. This is particularly beneficial for heavy patients (bariatric) or for staff with physical limitations. The powered system consists of two linear actuators (24V DC, non-magnetic, using ceramic magnets) mounted between the frame and the undercarriage. The actuators are controlled by a simple up/down pendant (wired, no wireless signals) that attaches to the push handle. The system has a lift capacity of 600 lb and a height range of 18 to 36 inches – wider than manual systems. The battery pack (lithium-ion, non-magnetic) is mounted under the deck and provides approximately 50 full up/down cycles per charge. The entire electrical system is shielded and tested for MRI compatibility (no RF emissions, safe for use outside the 5-gauss line).

Application

This stretcher is ideal for MRI facilities that handle a high volume of bariatric patients, or for facilities where staff have high rates of musculoskeletal injuries from manual height adjustment. The powered system allows a single staff member to adjust the stretcher height with the press of a button, even with a 500 lb patient on board. This makes it easier to align the stretcher with MRI tables of varying heights (which can range from 18 to 28 inches depending on the scanner model and manufacturer). The powered system is also useful for patients who need to be transferred from a low hospital bed (as low as 18 inches) to the stretcher, then raised to align with a higher MRI table. The wide height range (18-36 inches) accommodates nearly any clinical scenario. The system is quiet (less than 50 dB) and smooth, minimizing patient disturbance.
